Europe 4 - Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland,

 There’s only a few weeks left in our trip.
On Sunday, June 13, we meet Debbie, Clair and Phil Jackson in
Amsterdam. Debbie has booked us of three bedroom cottage in a
resort a few hours north of the city. We are spending 5 nights
there before Daniel, her husband, arrives. We’re changing to
another similar resort for 3 nights before driving to Bruges,
Belgium for 2 days. After Bruges, we fly to London for a few
nights before leaving from Southampton on the Queen Mary. I
have dreamed about crossing the Atlantic on a ship and this
will be it. Arriving in New York on a huge ship sounds
amazing.
The last few days before Debbie arrives, will be spent in
Alsace and Luxembourg. AD adds another country to his list.
Actually, we all add another country! We plan on finding
Aschbach, ancestral home of the Dibling family, and see the
Maginot Line blockhouses that remain from WWII. There are a
number of military installations that are now museums.
June 4, 2004
 There's
only 30 days left in this long journey around the world. When
we started, we often wondered "why are we doing this and will
we make it to the end". The end is near. We've almost made it.
This weekend , we are visiting with some old friends in
Switzerland. It will be our third visit in Chur where
Magdalena and Geni Rohner live. I met Magdalena on the Nile
with Michael Inman, Linda Claydon and Andrew Bartram. What an
amazing trip that was. There aren't many occasions in life
when so many dynamic personalities end up on the same boat, in
the same place, at the same time.
 We are finished with Austria and going to spend the next week
traveling north through Germany to Amsterdam. Along the way,
we are going to look for the village where the Diblings came
from near Strasbourg, visit Luxembourg and meet Robbie Hassert
in Southern Holland. Robbie was on the cruise in southern
Chile.
