Jan. 14th - Sun and a swim
The word for the day is “hormonal”. That’s
my middle name as the TV blares behind me, and I am ready to
jump out of my skin. We began the day in the typical TD
fashion running out of the house at 9 am to make a 9:30 movie
called “Brother Bear“. It was an excellent feel good
movie with lots of Phil Collins music.
After the film we went shopping again and got MI & AKC a
plastic shark for the pool and misc. other items. Then it was
off to the grocery and a stop to return the mouse TD had
purchased that didn’t work on our computer. Fortunately the
new one does. AD had to have Burger King for lunch, which will
end for him soon, as he will be living on rice, rice and more
rice throughout the next 10 weeks. Maybe he will expand his
eating some more as he recently added roast lamb to the list
of likes not dislikes. At least he enjoys a few different
types of Chinese food.
After our lunch and a quick nap it was time for some sun and a
swim for the boys. I sat on the sidelines and read about Bali.
For dinner we had fajitas which were excellent and then played
2 up. TD kicked our butts.
Jan. 15th - Last day (again)
We started our “second” last day in
Melbourne on the phone trying to catch up with friends and use
up the balance of a phone card. It’s been hard coordinating a
good time for calling. AD reached a few of his friends.
After
the calls, we drove to St. Kilda, a beach front community in
metro Melbourne. It’s got nice commercial streets and another
Luna Park amusement park. The sign described these parks as a
knock off of Coney Island. St. Kilda is near the city center
so we drove down and around it for a last time. Then came back
to Toorak to do some schoolwork. It’s finally gotten a little
warmer. We’ve had some very cool days during our stay. It’s
warm enough to play in the pool and sit on the deck.
These have been great days to get into the swing of schoolwork
again after the Christmas break. Finding those hours are
frequently very difficult. DW & I walked into Toorak village,
leaving AD at the house watching TV. It’s a few miles up hill
and down. We picked up some photos from the Barrier Reef and
bought some dinner items. Michael had his weekly appointment
with his masseuse before dinner. The guy comes to the house to
give it. We played cards after dinner then got our last packing
completed again.
