Ecuador
 Quito sits on the equator and has 12 hours of night and
light. Sunrise is 6 AM. The city is surrounded by a number of
volcanoes. We had a wonderful time with our hosts, Jim and
Judy Brisco.
The Galapagos Cruise
 We cruised to several of the islands aboard the
Galapagos
Legend. Touring was fascinating. We saw all manner of new
creatures -- sea lions, a penguin, fish and crab, huge
turtles, iguanas and more.
The Highlands Tour
 We had an adventurous visit to the
highlands and Amazon Jungle. We saw a Quichua Indian village
with morning treks in the jungle and visited Puyo and Riobamba.
Peru
 We
toured Lima including a couple of fascinating museums, then to Cuzco,
the Sacred Valley and a train up to Machu Picchu, then back to Cusco.
Chile
 We
had a beautiful drive across the desert, toured the steam
geysers, a HUGE open pit copper mine and had a lovely cruise
across the lake to Argentina.
